"King Kong ain't got nothin' on me." Its a line that arguably makes the film
Training Day starring Denzel Washington. It kind of summarizes the essence of Washington's character. And,
fun fact, that line was never in the script originally. Denzel threw
it in there.
Its memorable, almost as memorable as the famous one liner from the film
Casablanca, "Here's looking at you kid." And, rumor has it that"kid" was
not in the original script either. Yet, that one word, kinda makes the
line, a line that said almost anywhere and people know exactly what film you are refereencing.
My point is, sometimes you've got to live unscripted. Sometimes you have to take a chance and go a little off course to find that thing that
adds to the core of who you are, or the foundation of your dream.
This week go a little off script. Try the scenic route to work, order
the dish whose ingredients you can't pronounce, wear the color you often
shy away from, wear the taileored pants, talk to the person who slightly intimdates you, go to
the event where for once you don't know most of the people, sign up for
the MMA class, volunteer for the after school program, look up from your
Android or iPhone and actually say "hello" to the 34 people on average you
encounter daily.
King Kong ain't got nothin' on you.
Happy Tuesday!
